CfR worked with Plymouth Energy Community / PEC Renewables to develop and finance 2MW of rooftop solar across 30 schools and community buildings in the city and a 4.1MW solar farm on a brown field site at Ernesettle Lane. The solar arrays were funded by 3 separate community share offers which raised a total of £2.45million alongside long-term loans from Plymouth City Council. Surplus income generated by the solar arrays is used to support Plymouth Energy Community’s work tackling fuel poverty in the city and creating a fair, affordable, zero carbon energy system with local people at its heart.
CfR provided development and transaction management support, and co-funded the risk investment for the Ernesettle Lane solar array.
